World Cup Final

Today, it was the World Cup Final and I enjoyed it after a morning of traveling back to the Fort. And if you watched the game, you know it was an intense game. Congratulations to Germany; they definitely played an outstanding tournament.

Soccer is a team game and Lionel Messi could have not expressed that fact any better than he did when he won the Golden Ball for being the most outstanding player throughout the World Cup. I always found it odd having a individual award for a team sport especially if it's not for specific statistics. Messi showed that the individual meant nothing compared to the ultimate goal, the World Cup Championship; he seemed drained and extremely disappointed while receiving the award. It's the team over the individual in soccer and any team sport.
