Priorities
One thing I figured out in life is that people will make time for those things they care about. Everyone has their priorities. This is one of the easiest ways to figure out if someone cares about something: Will they make the time or effort?
No one is busy enough for long enough where the important things in life just slip their mind or can't be done for a long duration. A simple reply that you are busy and rescheduling for a future date is enough to express to someone that it is a priority; this, of course, loses it's meaning when it is constantly repeated.
This is neither good or bad. It is what it is; it is something to be mindful of. It is good to reminded of this whether it be you setting your own priorities or looking at where other people's priorities stand.
Note: Originally written in April 2016. There are many drafts of blog posts I have written but hesitated to post them as they seemed to be written hastily and in the moment. I will continue to review some drafts and post the ones I feel are still relevant.
