Personal Time Off

PTO, Personal Time Off. Or is it Paid Time Off? Some of you may call it vacation time. I know I'm not the only person that has trouble taking PTO (unlike the intern above); ironically, taking a vacation actually involves more work by making sure projects move forward and that everything is taken care of while you're gone. And the catching up on what happened while you were away isn't fun at all especially with the impossible number of emails to go through (wish our emails were threaded). It all about this whole work-life balance; doesn't vacation take work out of the work-life balance?!
But the extra work at work to prepare and recover from vacation isn't the only thing preventing me from taking PTO, it's the planning of the vacation itself that is the most extensive hassle. Most cases, you're going to desire to vacation with others; this is the highest obstacle to overcome since everyone is busy with work. Then, you have to have a come up with a common vacation as a group which is nearly impossible since people have different concepts of the ideal vacation; some like to be adventurous and try something new while others want to visit friends and family.
To avoid 90% of the planning (and hassle) and do as I would like, I've decided to venture into a journey by myself. I have main regions that I will be visiting for the next week or so but have no specifics; I will be roaming around semi-aimlessly. Contact me if you would like to meet up.
